You know how I told you about that robotics competition that I had joined with my friends? Well, we just had our 1st level competition, so here are the results: We got 1st place in our research project(going against 23 other teams) and 5th place overall, so we are qualified to go on to the next level!!! That competition will be in early to mid-December, so check back then to see our results.
As a sort of "prize" for qualifying, our parents let us watch the new movie 2012, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring John Cusack. I would probably give the plot a 0 out of 5, but the graphics a 5 out of 5. The movie was basically, as my friend put it "a series of narrow escapes strung together by dialogue", and I definitely agree with him on that. The story mostly revolves around 2 characters, and while one is simply evading disasters the whole way, the other has much more of a plot. The graphics were quite amazing, especially the giant tsunamis and and the huge metal boats. The only problem with the graphics was that some things were out of proportion. The apocalypse, instead of focusing on "fate" like Knowing did, this movie's Armageddon was caused entirely by science(energized neutrinos heating up the Earth's core).
So, all in all, the movie would be great on Blu-Ray because of the graphics, but don't waste your money on the movie ticket.
