Day 3: Glacier Bay National Park, AK
The next day, in the early morning, I was able to see whales on the side of the ship. I couldn't get pictures of that, but it was amazing! Later on, at 10 AM, park rangers working at Glacier Bay boarded the ship and did a few shows about what glaciers are and how they are formed. After the shows, we went to the Observation Deck to see the Lamplugh Glacier. It was quite a sight, and there was a little waterfall coming straight out of the ice! According to the park ranger, it was the "plumbing system" for all the meltwater flowing through the glacier. Then, while I was eating lunch, we seemed to have passed another glacier, which I didn't get to see. Next, we came to the Marjerie glacier, which was much larger. I saw it calve, or break, several times, and it was really beautiful. After that, the Park rangers left, so our ship wasn't allowed to be in the National Park. It's a protected area, you see.
