Day 7: Victoria, BC
The next at 7 pm (not am), we docked at the beautiful old city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. We took a tour with a private tour company. We saw the Legislature, which looked like a state capitol except it had a green top. Then we srove right up to the Lieutenant Governor's Mansion, which was measurably larger than the Alaska Governor's Mansion, and the British Queen had stayed there once as well. We also took a photo stop at Craigdarroch castle, which was built by a coal magnate named Robert Dunsmuir for his family to live in. Then we drove 45 minutes to the main stop on our tour: The Butchart Gardens. They were amazing!! Flowers everywhere, tree right next to you, even a few artificial waterfalls, lighted fountains, and a couple of totem poles! But the best thing about the Gardens was by far the fireworks. Instead of normal fireworks that just explode in the sky, they had a show on the ground as well. There were these little flat metal things in the shapes of mice, cats, flowers, even a canoe! And they were covered in fireworks, so it was like the mouse was made of fireworks, for example.
